What does ‘Joint tenants’ mean?
Joint tenants are those individuals who are rightful owners of the same property. In any scenario that involves the selling of the respective property, each of the tenants is entitled to receive his quota. Moreover, joint tenancy involves what is known as right of survivorship, which involves that if one of the tenants passes away, the surviving tenant becomes automatically the rightful owner of the respective property, without any legal proceedings having to be required. |
