C Charge Certificate
What does Charge Certificate mean?

Charge Certificates are documents released by the HM Land Registry to the lender in case of an existing mortgage on the respective property, or to the rightful owner. These official documents had the purpose of confirming the ownership of a property, and the document usually displayed the Charges Register, the Property Register and the Propriety Register.

New legislation brought the Title Information Document being the official replacement document of a Charge Certificate, which actually since 2003 is no more in use. Somewhat similar to the Charge Certificate, the title document displays basic notions such as the name of the rightful owner, the detailed description of the property itself and certainly a title number.
